I bought for my friend for his birthday.. he loves music.. price was reasonableLove Sting! This album again filled with familiar songs by Sting that bring back memories. Great housework music! Get that body movin again!!!!This is not a collection of tracks for the hardcore Sting/The Police fan...they will almost certainly already have these in their collection, but for someone like me who listened to many of these songs when they were new releases, yet is not a dedicated Sting/The Police fan, this is a great way to pick up some favorite tracks at a bargain price. I wanted to add some of these songs to my collection, so when this album showed up on one of Amazon's $5 MP3 album lists I jumped at it.OK, I'm kind of cheap. so I'm likely to buy an album if the cost per song on the album I'm interested in drops below $1/track. This album made that threshold easily! This album has 18 tracks, and 8 of them are clear winners for me, including my all time favorite song by Sting - Fields of Gold. So, click, purchase, viola, score! This way I get songs I really like plus a bunch of other ones that are not that familiar to me so I have a chance of finding even more that I like. This was a definite win for me.5 stars...again, for the casual fan.Great Oldie!I never listened to The Police until I came across this album online. Impressed with the lyrics and Sting's vocal abilities. These songs have a very heavy bass drum line that can distract from the enjoyment on some tracks.Wasn't sure if this would live up to expectations (being a big fan), but it exceeded what I was hoping. All classic songs and in an interesting order, mixing Police and Sting songs. I recommend this CD to anyone who likes theses artists. Just loving it!I didn't know what to really expect when I purchased this album. The main reason I bought it was because of the "Fields of Gold" song. I did listen to the samples of other songs which Amazon provides. But, those were merely 30 second samples. Yet, I took the risk in buying it, figuring that it had to be good since it is a compilation of Sting's best songs. Well, it truly is. I am over-satisfied with this album. I never knew how much influence reggae and gospel music genres had on Sting's music. Being a fan of both, I was impressed with Sting's and the Police's abilities to incorporate those elements into their music. They even remixed one song and added hip-hop elements (compliments of Sean "P.Diddy" Combs). This cd has impressed me so much, it is practically the only cd that I have listened to over the past week. I am sure that whether you're a fan of Sting or not, the music on this album will move you and put you in a certain zone.Excellent CD and tracks. Just curious what the record changer sound in the background is all about??????I listened to this last night and couldn't get over the gorgeous sound production, even playing through my computer on iTunes. There are so many rich songs on here that the Police as a group, and 'Sting' as a solo artist put down that I couldn't bear to tear myself away whilst the album was playing. You've got the enormous tracks like Roxanne; So Lonely, Every Little Thing; and the solo sensations of Englishman In New York, plus the timeless Fields of Gold. I was truly blown away with stuff I've never heard before, such as Seven Days and Fragile. Even though these were new to me, along with others on here, the album kept my full attention all the way through, and that's important. If you really want a decent/good overview of the Police and Sting, this CD or download covers a lot of good stuff very well.As far as it goes, this is not a bad collection, but notable more for what it leaves out. For example, how can it be the "very best of" Sting and the Police but ignore Invisible Sun, Bed's Too Big Without You, Murder By Numbers, Be My Girl - Sally and Moon Over Bourbon Street - to provide a very incomplete list? The answer is that it should have been a 2CD package and delivered more than a highly selective list of songs. This is a very basic best of, missing some pretty obvious songs (eg. Invisible Sun, Spirits In The Material World, etc.). It's okay, but there are far better compilations available and so I'd recommend them over this one. I've ordered a 2 CD best of http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Police/dp/B000R3VUQS/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpi_2 as it seems to be more what I was after. Still, I enjoyed the CD even without the 'missing' tracks (bit of nostalgia). I'll leave this in the car.Police and Sting at their best.Cd was scratched so songs didn't play
