My review isn't necessarily for the stories themselves...I already knew they would be awesome because I'd already read all of the GOT books in the past, and have seen every HBO episode as well! So, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the novels written by George R. R. Martin! My only complaint about this particular set, is that the books themselves were much smaller than I expected. The description of this item read 7" x 12" so I figured they were a nicely sized set. I should've known better with such a low price though :( They are about the size of a dime-store, paperback novel you'd find in any drug store or grocery store. Because they are such long books though, the print is extremely tiny! Being that they had to cram so many words into such a small format, it makes for some very squinty reading, lol! It is not impossible though, just may not be so great for someone like me, who wears glasses. Make no mistake though, I'm not blind by any means. I only wear a very light prescription of reading glasses, and I still found this print to be incredibly tiny :(The shipping took some time, but that's okay. Unfortunately some edges were a little bit squished and the pages are not high quality glued together. Furthermore the writing is VERY small, although it doesn't say "mass market paper back". But still, I really like the book set and it's absolutely reasonable for this price! I wasn't expecting library binding and you get used to the small font. The light weight is also a big plus. The only thing which really pisses me off is, that the first book has a different design from the others and this makes it look really weird in the shelf. It is not as in the picture and this is why I substracted one star. A box set should always have the same basic design. The ugly "NOW ON HBO OMFG THE SERIES ON TV WATCH IT" red banner on the sides isn't very pretty, too.I bought these to avoid all the HBO branding on the other books. Only the first one showed the actor Eddard on the cover and on the side. The second book (A Clash of Kings) was also not what the picture described, the only difference is the color. The picture shows gray whereas the actual book is green, but the rest of the books were just as the picture shown. This review is based solely on the physical aspect of the books, not on the content (although that's pretty good too). The box it came in was damaged (the edge was completely torn, but no harm done to the books at all.) I would've rated 5/5 if the picture of the first book was accurate. Oh well, not a HUGE deal, just be aware.Perfect set of the series of Game of Thrones books. I can't wait to start reading. Such a great story. I read them once and had to leave them in another country. So I'm excited about reading them again.This is the version I eloped everywhere for! I was very skeptical since I was forced to buy it off a Third Party Seller but once it came it was brand new and the package was safely packaged in bubble wrap. The quality of these books are a lot better then the Mass Paperback (US version). The fact that A Storm Of Swords is split into 2 books is awesome. The UK covers are very unique and look so much better then the US version. And finally this edition of A Dance With Dragons is HUGE almost too big to even hold up but it looks really good when all the books are in the case! Worth every penny!I had spent a lot of time searching for a copy that did not have any script pertaining to how it was a show on HBO as well. This one is advertised without said script. But when the books arrived, the first book had the HBO stuff written right across the front. The good news is that the first book is the only book with it. Meh, I'll surviveThe Item was as described , but the box was broken and the delivery time was longer than expected.Very happy, super reasonable price, just wish the covers didn't have the HBO ad on them.Winter is coming... Prepare to be immersed in a richly described, violent, unpredictable world with fantastic character development, shrewd political intrigue, & insanely twisting plots. I started reading the books after watching the TV show & so glad I was introduced to them - one of my all-time favourite book series, if not my favourite (& I'll have to wait & see how GRRM continues/ends it to decide that!)! If you are a fan of fantasy that is more immersed in the politics of the world, read this.This epic has a fantastic plot. Sadly, it also has a LOT (!!!) of very boring descriptions. I don't care about the detailed fashion choices of Sansa Stark or the fabric quality of the Jaime Banisters travel cloak. Without these nuisances this adventure would be hundreds of pages shorter, and a lot better.I have read the first 3 books on the Kindle and had to aks for them to be returned to the beginning for my husband to read. Trouble is I know these are books I will go back to again and again hence this brilliant boxed set. Simply can't wait for the third series of the TV programme to be released.This was exactly what I was looking for, after I had ordered it I found the same product on the high street at exactly the same price, but having it delivered was much better than carrying one home!! My son was over the moon with his Birthday present.A fantastic series of books. After reading the first I had to purchase the rest as the storyline is so well written and gripping that one could not wait for the entire series to be written.
